.Tri-County CERT participated in a Douglas County and Sarpy County POD's (point of dispensing).  On March 3, 2016 there were Region wide POD exercises held in Douglas County and Sarpy County.  The Douglas County and Sarpy County Health Departments were in charge of it to practice if we have an anthrax event.

The one in Douglas County was held at Metro Community South campus in the morning.  There were 4 CERT members who participated in it and helped with traffic control.

The one in Sarpy County was held at Bellevue East High School gym in the afternoon.  There were 9 CERT members who participated in it and helped with registering volunteers, checking volunteers out, helping dispense the medication (candy)  being runners and communications.  There were also members of MRC (Medical Reserve Corp) who dispensed the medication (candy).  They had approximately 600 people go through the POD in 30 minutes.

This was a great exercise to see how CERT can help during one of these and to see how any people we can handle in a short amount of time.
